Demo released! Also some less good news!
Hey all, we have some information to share about Astral Casino. Good news first; our school demo is now up and available to download on itch! There's also a little art bundle listed as "Bonus Files"! This build is reflective of what we managed to make in around four months. It was gruelling and despite all the flaws we're insanely proud of it. It was a lot to put together and pushed all of us to our limits.
So, I guess you're all wondering what the bad news is now!
The long and short is that Astral Casino is being put on indefinite hold for a variety of reasons; the design and narrative need revising, the combat never quite got to where it needed to be, one of our writers may be returning to school, our lead programmer just had a child, and honestly many more small reasons. We announced the project earlier than we would have planned ourselves as part of a class assignment. We thought we had a legitimate chance to continue working on it and to ship it after school ended so we tried to make the best of the situation, but life is complicated. No shade to our amazing marketing teacher SALIM for getting us to do some social media practice, though!
Unfortunately, we don't currently have a timeline for getting this project back on track, and we're certainly going to release other games together before Astral Casino. So, brass tacks; the game is on hold for now. We're going to continue working together on other projects, and there's at least one project on track to release this year.
As far as we're concerned this isn't a "Goodbye" to Astral Casino, it's a "See you later!".
